CISCO Programme

CISCO Certified Network Associate

CISCO systems Inc., California is an industry leader of internetworking products. Having a market capitalization of 80% worldwide, CISCO has decided to provide students with a solid communication which includes network design, routing and switching, and networking maintenance & operation through the CISCO Networking Academy Program (CNAP)

Programme

CNAPs Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) can be offered either as a full course programme or a fast track programme.

Extended  Programme

The course is a 4 semester programme that encompasses 6 months on the principles and practice of designing , building and maintaining networks capable of supporting national and global organizations. This web based multimedia course helps you to be your first job in IT.

Programme structure

  • Semester 1 - Networking Basics
  • Semester 2 -  Router and Routing Basics
  • Semester 3 -  Switching basics and intermediate building
  • Semester 4 - WAN technologies

The above programme can be offered on full time or part time basis over a 6 month period but can be extended up to 9 months.

CCNA Certification Training (Fast Track)

The CCNA certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate) indicates a foundation in and apprentice knowledge of networking. CCNA certified professionals can install, configure and operate LAN, WAN, and digital access services for small networks (100 nodes or fewer) including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists.

The CCNA Training makes a candidate proficient in the following objectives, which are the examination objectives of the CCNA 640-801 Examination.

Planning & Designing

  • Design a simple LAN suing Cisco Technology
  • Design an IP addressing scheme to meet design requirements
  • Select an appropriate routing protocol based on user requirements
  • Design a simple internet work using Cisco technology
  • Develop an access list to meet user specifications
  • Choose WAN services to meet customer requirements

Implementation & operation

  • Configure routing  protocols given user requirements
  • Configure IP addresses, subnet masks, and gateway addresses on routers and hosts
  • Configure a router for additional administrative functionality
  • Configure a switch with VLANS and inter-switch communication
  • Implement a LAN
  • Customize a switch configuration to meet specified  network requirements
  • Manage system image and device configuration files
  • Perform an initial configuration on a router
  • Perform an initial configuration on a switch
  • Implement access lists
  • Implement simple WAN protocols

Troubleshooting

  • Utilize the OSI model as a guide for systematic network trouble shooting
  • Perform LAN and VLAN troubleshooting
  • Trouble shoot routing protocols
  • Trouble shoot IP addressing and host configuration
  • Trouble shoot a device as part of a working network
  • Trouble shoot an access list
  • Perform a simple WAN trouble shooting

Technology

  • Describe network communications using layered models
  • Describe the Spanning Tree Process
  • Compare and contrast key characteristics of LAN environments
  • Evaluate the characteristics of routing protocols
  • Evaluate TCP/IP communication process and its associated protocols
  • Describe the components of network devices
  • Evaluate rules for packet control
  • Evaluate key characteristics of WANs

Course Delivery

The course is delivered through contact lecture classes by highly qualified teaching professionals. The theoretical classes are backed up by extensive hands on laboratory practical sessions. The classes are offered in batches of ten or more students. The course is delivered on a part time basis usually over 8 weeks incorporating 2 hours of tuition everyday from Saturday – Wednesday

Fees

Fast track Programme R.O. 375/-

Test

The test can be conducted at any of the PROMETRIC testing centers where the candidate will bear the exam fees as they are not included in the price.
